Twelfth Lock Hotel Sold for €2.4m
The Twelfth Lock Hotel, which overlooks the Royal Canal at Castleknock in Dublin has been sold for approximately €2.4m in a private contract sale.
The 10-bedroom boutique hotel, inset, has been acquired by Castleknock-based entrepreneur Greg Browne who operates a number of successful bars and restaurants in the immediate area, including De Bruns, Trentuno and Castello Bruno.
Mr Browne is expected to revamp the Twelfth Lock Hotel’s bar and restaurant facilities with a view to offering its patrons a high quality bar with casual canal-side dining. Plans are also being drawn up for a new seafood restaurant.
CBRE Hotel & Leisure director, John Ryan, said the Twelfth Lock Hotel had generated significant interest from hoteliers, restauranteurs and publicans.
Meanwhile, The Ramble Inn pub in Killester has been sold for in excess of €525,000 to a consortium headed up by businessman Shane O’Brien.
The disposal of the pub, located close to Dublin’s Parnell Park GAA ground, was conducted by agents CBRE acting on the instruction of receivers Grant Thornton. The sale of the premises is understood to have attracted significant interest.
The Twelfth Lock Hotel is a cosmopolitan space located near Castleknock Marina on the banks of the Royal Canal. The hotel is a great for business and tourist travellers, and has affordable comfort, combined with a high quality service, all in a serene environment.
