Guaranteed Irish marks September as ‘Construction Month’
Leading industry representatives will share their insights on how to develop Ireland’s construction sector in a sustainable way as part of the Guaranteed Irish ‘Construction Month’ this September.
Guaranteed Irish is a business membership organisation with over 300 members nationwide, including leading construction, hardware, manufacturing and DIY firms such as CRH, Tegral, Wavin, Kingspan, Combilift, Celuplast, Dulux, Fleetwood, Kilsaran and Camfil.
Throughout September, Guaranteed Irish will profile these members and highlight the contribution they make to the Irish economy and the local communities in which they are based.
Several events will take place during the month, at which experts – including representatives from Guaranteed Irish’s member companies – will share insights on how best to stimulate Ireland’s construction sector and ensure a sustainable housing supply in future decades.
Speaking in advance of Construction Month, Brid O’Connell, CEO of Guaranteed Irish, said: “A decade after the economic downturn first hit this country, our member companies have kept themselves afloat, kept communities alive and provided real jobs for the people of Ireland. At Guaranteed Irish, we want to champion these businesses, and so showcase how their experiences and expertise can help in the development of sustainable construction policies for future years.
“There is a real sense within this sector that companies have worked hard through the recession and are well equipped to face future challenges. As such, they are perfectly positioned to share insights on the current housing crisis and how best to develop a sustainable construction sector, particularly given the new challenges we are facing in light of Brexit.”
