Chadwicks Launches New Fixing Centre
Chadwicks, Ireland’s leading building merchanting company, has officially launched the Chadwicks Fixing Centre at Thomas Street, Dublin 8. The launch coincides with the opening of the newly revamped branch which is conveniently located right next to the Fixing Centre.
The opening forms part of a €5 million investment in the company network nationwide. The Thomas Street Chadwicks branch is the fourteenth to be revamped with further refurbishments planned for 2020.
Fixing Centre is a new store concept for Chadwicks
The Chadwicks Fixing Centre is a brand-new concept store for the company which aims to provide builders, engineers and specialist tradespeople with everything they need in one location. The new store supplies trade customers with a host of setting chemicals, concrete anchors, nuts, bolts, nails and fixings for any job.
The Fixing Centre also has a wide range of power tools available from basic entry level models to high end carpentry tools. Key innovations on display include the latest range from Milwaukee, the leading industry supplier for heavy duty specialist tools which are built for durability and performance. The Fixing Centre also offers the latest cordless freehand tools with a registry system available to ensure tools are safe from theft.
Three new jobs have been created as part of this new opening, and the dedicated team is comprised of fixing and tool specialists. Chadwicks offers not only a behind the counter service but specialist team members are also on the road visiting customers on site. As well as having a substantial range in stock, customers can also order in specialised fixings to fit their needs.
Revamp of the Thomas St Branch
As well as the launch of the new Fixing Centre, the Thomas Street branch has undergone a complete facelift and houses the latest styles, product innovations and top brands on the market. New shelving, flooring, signage, counters and layout have all been installed, allowing customers to have a more hands-on experience with the products.
Currently, the branch employs 26 highly trained merchanting specialists across a variety of product groups. The expert team receives regular training on all the latest product innovations in the construction sector to ensure its customers stay on top of the latest trends in the industry.
Chadwicks Thomas Street has deep roots in the local community and is located on a historic site with an impressive archway dating back to 1881. The protected structure was originally built for Kelly’s Timber, a well-known timber merchant in the area until the mid-twentieth century. Post restoration, it stands as a unique statement piece for Chadwicks Thomas Street.
The branch also regularly collaborates with the local art college, NCAD, Ireland’s oldest art institution, helping its students who specialise in design to pick the correct materials and products to create their final year masterpieces.
Commenting on the opening, Patrick Atkinson, CEO of Chadwicks Group, said: “We are thrilled to officially relaunch the Chadwicks Thomas Street branch with it’s new-look showrooms and displays. Today marks a significant moment in our history at this site as we unveil the brand-new Chadwicks Fixing Centre, a new concept which transforms this location into a one stop branch for all of our trade customers. Our mission is to provide a best-in-class customer experience and to ensure our service offering is consistent with our customers’ needs as the construction industry evolves. The Fixing Centre has been opened to meet the high demand for fixings in the Irish market which has been created by the rise in RMI activity. Visitors to the branch can expect a new store layout and an expanded product range coupled with our unrivalled expertise and product knowledge, but more importantly they will find products that usually wouldn’t be stocked in a Chadwicks branch thanks to the Fixing Centre’s offering.”
