Cairn granted planning for a further 565 residential units at Seven Mills, a new town in Dublin 22
Cairn Homes plc has been granted full planning permission by An Bord Pleanála for 565 high-quality houses, apartments and duplexes at Seven Mills in Dublin 22. This announcement brings the total number of residential units that have been granted planning permission to almost 2,000 (c. 1,400 of which were granted in 2023) out of the 5,500 planned new homes that Cairn will deliver at Seven Mills.
Seven Mills continues to build momentum with this announcement closely following the granting of full planning permission by An Bord Pleanála in November for 603 high-quality apartments which will also see the construction of six retail units, a creche, an office building, and an urban square.
Construction of the first phase at Seven Mills began in January 2023 with 130 family homes now complete and the first residents now calling Parkleigh in Seven Mills home, less than 11 months after construction commenced.
Michael Stanley, CEO of Cairn, said: “Seven Mills is playing a key role in answering the needs of over 15,000 future residents, with access to top-class amenities, new schools, and creches. Working alongside several key stakeholders, including South Dublin County Council, we are committed to further delivering on the mission-critical objective of the Government and local authorities to increase the supply of housing and apartments in the Greater Dublin Area at pace and scale.”
Situated between Lucan and Clondalkin on the banks of the Grand Canal, Seven Mills forms a major component of the Clonburris Strategic Development Zone (SDZ). When complete, Seven Mills will be home to over 15,000 people with significant commercial, retail, and office space which will employ over 10,000 people. Every home will be within a 5-minute walk of services and amenities.
