Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE) has initiated tenders for the development of four primary care centres in Galway, writes David Keniry.

The HSE has issued four Pre- qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) for the development of primary care centres in Claregalway, Galway City, Spiddal, and Oranmore.

The HSE is initiating these tender competitions in order to identify an economic operator with suitable lands or building and the capability to develop a primary care centre on such lands or within such building and lease it to the Contracting Authority, including a future option for the Contracting Authority to buy the primary care centre.

It is anticipated that the term of the lease will be between 25 and 30 years from the completion of the primary care centre.

The public body invites submissions in response to the PQQs for the design and delivery of a sustainable primary care centre at the Development Site and the lease of the primary care centre to the HSE. The full operation of the Contract will be conditional on the Developer securing or having secured a grant of planning permission.

Tenders are due by August 1st for the Galway City West Primary Care Centre, August 23rd for the Claregalway Primary Care Centre, August 30th for the Primary Care Centre Development at Spiddal, and likewise for the Oranmore Primary Care Centre.
