Hill International and the Chartered Institute of Building announced today that leading speakers from top law firms will join construction experts at a Masterclass in the Europa Hotel, on 14th May 2015.
Speakers include Lisa Boyd of Cleaver Fulton Rankin, Tim Kinney, Partner at Tughans, Stuart Murphy of Carson McDowell, and Aaron Boyle of Arthur Cox. Experts from Hill, Cadogans Consultants and Building Information Modelling consultancy, Arcdox will talk on diverse subjects including procurement, delay analysis and using expert witnesses in dispute resolution.

Stuart Wilks, Director at Hill said, “the Masterclass has taken place worldwide over the past fifteen years, but never in Northern Ireland. We’re delighted to be working with such a great range of recognised experts on an event in Belfast.”

He continued, “The event gives us and guest speakers a chance to share our knowledge with attendees. We aim to help delegates learn from the challenges we see in our daily work as experts, lawyers and consultants. The added benefit of providing an opportunity to bright students through our ‘Novus’ scholarship is something we’re extremely pleased about.”

The Masterclass aims to explain to attendees how to use contracts, the law, technology and the legal system, to maximise financial success and reduce the risk of costly legal disputes. The CIOB ‘Novus’ scholarship is supported by Tughans, Carson McDowell and Cleaver Fulton Rankin, and will allow students to attend the Masterclass for a significantly reduced cost.

Gerard Graham, Chair of the CIOB’s Novus group in Northern Ireland said, “Novus supports and encourages young people as they develop their careers in construction management. It’s therefore excellent that the Masterclass in Belfast will be the first to provide an opportunity for them to hear leading speakers from both construction and the legal sectors”.
