June 30
14:55 2016

luas_dublin_mainimgA €368m cross-city Luas line bid was settled in a High Court challenge during the process of settling the contract.

This project was a joint venture between Somague Engenharia SA, a Portuguese construction company, and Wills Brothers Ltd, which is a Mayo based civil engineering company. These organizations agreed to join forces in bidding for this project to construct a 5.6km track linking the Green and Red Luas lines as well as extending them to Cabra.

Their bid came second to John Sisk & Son, a Dublin based construction company, and Steconfer, a Portuguese company that specialises in railway construction.

The project is in works and is expected to be complete in October 2017.
