€800,000 Investment and 50% Increase in Capacity by Capinpac
Modular building designer and manufacturer, Cabinpac, has marked forty years in business with an €800,000 investment in a 20,000 sq ft factory extension with equipment, increasing its capacity by 50%. The new facility will be able to produce up to 20 units per week, increasing the total plant capacity to 60 modular units per week.
The business, founded in 1979, is enjoying rapid growth with its turnover expected to double in the current financial year. In order to manage this growth, the company has created 16 new full-time jobs in 2019, increasing its total headcount by more than 30%.
Cabinpac supplies modular units, assembled in its plant and installed, complete, on site, to the industrial, pharma and logistics sectors and has positioned itself as a leading supplier of modular solutions to the education and healthcare sectors. These solutions are all designed to match individual customer demand.
Management believes that the increasing costs of construction, occasioned by a lack of skilled labour availability and likely to be further increased in the case of a hard Brexit and its impact on supply of building materials – while difficult for many – are benefiting Cabinpac’s growth.
Regina Doherty, Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection, who officially opened the new facility, noted: “I was delighted to officially open Cabinpac’s new production facility. It’s not just infrastructure that is being created here and I am equally pleased to welcome the 16 new jobs created resulting from development. This additional employment underlines the benefit of having a company like Cabinpac within the community. They are a good employer, in it for the long term and proud to be part of the community and to play a part in the local economy.”
Tadhg Twomey, Managing Director of Cabinpac, commented: “We have a convincing story to tell to companies, organisations and public bodies who need extra space, and need it quickly. Cabinpac’s modular building solutions are produced in a controlled factory environment, making them a sustainable and cost-effective option in regard of reduced time and labour costs on-site. In addition, of course, there is less disruption to local transport networks and the immediate area around a site.
“There is increasing demand for our products – which are eminently flexible and adaptable to the needs of the individual customer – and we’re supplying modular office, accommodation, storage, manufacturing and warehousing units to a wide variety of companies across an increasing number of industry sectors. As a result, we’re confident we can treble in size from where we are today.
“In the education and healthcare sectors particularly – that’s schools and hospitals – the modular solutions we design and manufacture provide a simple, efficient and above all, rapid way of meeting often urgent needs for new buildings, which simply cannot be met in any other way. I’m delighted to say that this growing demand means that we need more people to handle it – 16 people have joined us this year, an increase in employee numbers of some 30% – which can only be good news for the local economy as a whole.”
