Exciting Developments Unveiled for Curracloe Links and Ravenport Resort in Southeast Ireland

In a long-anticipated development, the construction of Curracloe Links, a 28-year dream project, is set to commence in southeast Ireland. Spearheaded by the Neville Hotel Group, this project, designed by golf architects Dana Fry and Jason Straka, is poised to be a unique addition to the golfing landscape, nestled within the scenic Ravenport Resort overlooking Ireland’s iconic Curracloe Beach.

After nearly three decades of navigating complex permitting issues, Seamus Neville, head of the Neville Hotel Group, is set to see his vision come to life. The 6,600-yard, par-70 Curracloe Links is expected to debut in 2026, offering a distinctive golfing experience to both locals and visitors.

Part of the €20-million Ravenport Resort, Curracloe Links will be complemented by a luxury hotel boasting 50 rooms, a spa, and a leisure club in Wexford. Situated strategically to overlook Curracloe Beach, renowned for being the backdrop of the opening scene in “Saving Private Ryan,” the resort adds an extra layer of allure to the entire project.

Golf course architects Dana Fry and Jason Straka express their honour in designing what could be one of the last links courses in Ireland. Straka emphasizes the course’s unique features, including sea views, challenging terrain, and even water hazards on the first and 18th holes—a rarity for Irish links courses.

Straka highlights the integration of the course with the quintessential Irish landscape, surrounded by sheep farms and rock walls. The project aims to create a resort-style atmosphere, complete with 22 villas tailored for golfing foursomes, a lighted putting green/putting course, and a clubhouse featuring an Irish whiskey bar.

Unlike some high-profile golf courses, Curracloe Links and Ravenport Resort are not aiming to host major tournaments. Instead, the emphasis is on creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for resort-style golf and tourism.

Curracloe Links is strategically located just 75 minutes south of the well-known Druids Glen resort, making it accessible for golf enthusiasts. The recent multi-million-dollar restoration of Druids Glen, often referred to as the “Augusta of Ireland,” has further enhanced the appeal of the region.

As the project unfolds, it promises to redefine golfing experiences in Ireland, blending luxurious accommodations with a meticulously designed golf course—all set against the backdrop of the picturesque Curracloe Beach.
