Jones Engineering, a leading global engineering firm headquartered in Dublin, has announced the expansion of its operations in Sweden with the opening of a new office in Gävle on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024. This strategic move underscores Jones Engineering’s commitment to its European operations and further strengthens its presence in the Nordic region, where it has been active since 2015.

The inauguration ceremony, held in the presence of esteemed clients and dignitaries, including Barbara Jones, Ambassador of Ireland to the Kingdom of Sweden, Goran Arnell, Municipal Director & CEO of the Municipality of Gavle, and Julia Cederstrand, Deputy Mayor, marked a significant milestone for Jones Engineering. The event also witnessed the participation of Jones Engineering employees who have relocated to work across the region.

Ray Greene, Director at Jones Engineering, expressed his enthusiasm for the new venture, emphasizing its importance in embedding the company within Swedish society. He highlighted Gävle as a pivotal hub for their regional operations, fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth. Greene expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and support received from the Swedish nation, acknowledging the pivotal role it played in making the expansion possible.

With nearly a decade of operations in Sweden, the opening of the Gävle office represents a significant milestone for Jones Engineering. Greene underscored the office’s role as a cornerstone in supporting the company’s continued growth and sustainability efforts in the region. Moreover, he emphasized the positive impact of the expansion on reducing transit emissions and contributing to the local economy, making Gävle an attractive place for their team members to live and work.

Jones Engineering is actively recruiting new talent across the Nordics to support its expanding business operations, with over 30 job opportunities available. These positions span various roles in engineering, quantity surveying, and planning management across mechanical and electrical sectors.

Ambassador Barbara Jones commended Jones Engineering’s decision to establish a regional office in Gävle, highlighting the company’s reputation for excellence in engineering and high-tech construction services. She praised the collaborative efforts between Irish companies and local communities in Sweden, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainable growth, innovation, and common values.
