Lagan Building Contractors has been appointed by Belfast Harbour to develop the second office block of a £250 million (€355m) project in Belfast.

It’s the latest phase in Belfast Harbour’s 20-acre regeneration plan for the area.

The project is predicted to create up to 600 construction jobs and built with a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standard, with delivery in early 2017.

Dr. David Dobbin, Belfast Harbour’s Chairman commented:

“Earlier this year we completed City Quays 1, of which 85% is currently or soon to be occupied. This demonstrates that there is a high demand for office space of this quality and specification within Belfast.” He also added :

“Belfast Harbour is delighted to appoint a local contractor to build what we expect to be an impressive addition to the waterfront, and we are pleased with how quickly the development is progressing overall.”

The City Quays project is the largest commercial venture by Belfast Harbour, which is developing the lands beside the River Lagan and M3 motorway.
