Ronan Group Real Estate has announced the appointment of Rory Williams (pictured) as its new CEO. In his new role, Rory Williams will, under the guidance of Ronan Group’s founder John Ronan, lead the group in its continued development as a major player in the Irish real estate market.

Rory Williams is a former partner in the corporate and commercial department of leading law firm Arthur Cox. He then served for 12 years as general counsel to Treasury Holdings, playing a significant role in its expansion into China and sitting on Treasury’s board and on the board of its Singapore-listed entity, Forterra Trust (formerly Treasury China Trust).

Latterly, Rory Williams was Chief Legal Officer to Ervia, Ireland’s multi-utility, and parent company of Irish Water and Gas Networks Ireland, leading a team of 20 legal professionals.

Announcing the appointment, John Ronan said: “We’re delighted to appoint Rory Williams as CEO of Ronan Group Real Estate. Rory brings an exceptional legal mind and a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role having served in senior leadership positions in both the private and semi-state sectors. Rory will be a fantastic addition to our leadership team.”

Commenting on his appointment, Rory Williams said: “Ronan Group is delivering commercial and mixed-use developments of historic scale and ambition, supporting the State in attracting the world’s leading multinationals to base their headquarters here. It is a privilege to take on the role of CEO at this juncture. I look forward to working with the Ronan Group team to build on this powerful momentum and to strengthening our pipeline further with the highest quality developments.”

Separately, John Savage, a Senior Asset Manager since joining the company in 2016, has been appointed Interim COO.

Ronan Group has a current development pipeline in excess of seven million square feet. The company is on site on three flagship city centre projects including Tara Street which, on completion, will be Dublin’s tallest building; Salesforce Tower; and Fibonacci Square which will be home to Facebook’s new EMEA headquarters. Ronan Group has developed 10 million sq. ft. and master planned 30 million sq. ft. of buildings in Ireland, UK, Russia and China.
