The Ulster Bank Construction Purchasing Managers’ Index® (PMI®) – a seasonally adjusted index designed to track changes in total construction activity – posted 50.9 in January, above the 50.0 no-change mark for the second successive month to signal a rise in activity in the Irish construction sector.

New Dwelling Completions Up 18% in 2019
According to the Central Statistics Office (CSO), 6,450 new dwelling completions were recorded in the fourth quarter of 2019, an increase of 19% on the 5,445 completed in the corresponding period in 2018. This brings the number of new dwellings completed in 2019 to 21,241, up 18% from 2018.
