Pentagon Technologies Group has unveiled plans to generate 100 employment opportunities at its Dundalk facility in County Louth within the next five years.

The Japanese-headquartered company is set to establish a new precision parts cleaning facility in the town, augmenting its existing operations aimed at enhancing semiconductor manufacturing equipment usage.

The forthcoming facility signifies an extension of services catering to Ireland’s semiconductor industry.

Construction is already underway at the site located within the IDA Science and Technology Park in Dundalk, with operations expected to commence in the third quarter of this year.

CEO Dave Christeson highlighted Pentagon’s two-decade presence in Ireland, primarily focused on supporting the construction of new semiconductor fabs. He expressed enthusiasm about the company’s trajectory towards becoming a significant employer in the Dundalk region.

Minister for Enterprise Simon Coveney lauded the expansion of Pentagon’s Dundalk operation, emphasising its role in advancing innovation within Ireland and Europe’s semiconductor and tech sectors. He commended the initiative for generating over 100 manufacturing roles, aligning with the government’s objective of fostering balanced regional development.

IDA Ireland CEO Michael Lohan hailed the announcement as a substantial boon for the local economy, underscoring the agency’s commitment to facilitating economic growth across regions.
