Five million people get their electricity and gas from us at home and at work – making us one of the top energy companies in the UK. As part of the E.ON group, we’re also one of the top energy companies in the world.

We want to be a company people can trust and are always looking at ways to make energy cleaner.

We’re improving our gas, coal and oil-fired power stations and are producing more energy from renewable sources like wind and water. At the moment, we’ve got 21 wind farms, a dedicated biomass plant at Lockerbie and the first wave power generator in the UK. We’re not stopping there though. We’ve got plans to produce a lot more renewable energy very soon – at least 1,500MW more. We’ve also built a number of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants, which are much more efficient than traditional power plants.

As well as making energy cleaner, we want to make it simpler. We’ve talked to customers to find out what they want and have introduced things like clear, single-sheet bills and fewer tariffs that are easier to understand. We’re doing more to help customers save energy and money too, by giving them free energy saving hints and tips.

Our Generation business is involved in every link of the energy chain, producing electricity from a portfolio of world-class power stations and researching new technologies to meet the needs of our customer base.

In the UK Climate and Renewables focus is on wind, both onshore and offshore and dedicated biomass. We have 20 operational onshore and 3 offshore wind farms, and we’re also a partner in the world’s largest offshore wind farm, the London Array.

In establishing Gas Storage UK Ltd, a new UK subsidiary, E.ON has recognised that gas storage facilities will become increasingly important way to secure the gas supplies for our UK customers.

Exploration and Production is an upstream oil and gas company with its head office in London and offices in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth.

New Build and Technology is the ‘Technology Centre’ of the E.ON Group, providing highly innovative efficiency and future-proofing solutions for electricity and gas-sector plant and equipment.

E.ON IT UK is part of the E.ON IT Group which provides IT Services to the whole of E.ON within Europe.

Our corporate support functions also provide key services for the whole of E.ON UK, delivering cost effective processes and vital functional support.
