International hospitality management company, PREM Group has completed the first stage of its renovation programme at Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort, Blessington, County Wicklow. The group purchased the 90-bedroom hotel in 2016 and since then has already spent over €6 million on the property to return the luxury 18th century Manor House and its surrounding grounds to their former glory.

The initial renovation programme saw 16 new bedrooms being added to the Wicklow property while the bridal suite, foyer, drawing and library rooms of the Manor House have been tastefully transformed. Interior designer, Julie Goggin oversaw the design of the property to include a revamp of the the hotel lobby and Elk Bar.

Further to this Architects Moloney O‘Beirne were commissioned to design a stunning state-of-the-art clubhouse for the property offering golfers a modern and bright facility to gear up in before playing the championship course. A major part of the investment has focused on the main entrance, grounds and golf course making it one of the best parkland golf courses in the country. Men’s developmental professional golf tour, the PGA EuroPro Tour, have also selected Tulfarris Hotel as their host venue for three consecutive years since the vast course improvements.

Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort is located just 40 minutes from Dublin and has exquisite surroundings against the spectacular backdrop of the Blessington Lakes and Wicklow Mountains. The resort comprises of a luxury 4-star hotel, 18-hole championship golf course, clubhouse, conference centre, banqueting suites, a restaurant and bar. The 18th century Manor House sits at the heart of the resort and its classic design and elegant proportions are typical of the 18th century architecture of the time.

The redevelopment of the property is aimed at attracting clientele from the wedding and special occasion markets, while the presence of the one AA Rosette award winning Lime Tree restaurant ensures that visitors to the hotel enjoy the finest cuisine served up by Executive Head Chef, Eddie McDermott.

John O’ Grady, General Manager of Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort, said: “We are delighted with the recent renovations at our luxury resort. The combination of a stunning venue and a striking location makes Tulfarris Hotel one of the best event venues in Ireland. Whether it’s a conference for 320 people or a strategy away day for your senior management, Tulfarris can cater for all conference types.”

Jim Murphy, CEO of PREM Group, said: “Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort has always been synonymous with golf and has been a popular destination for both wedding couples and for corporate events for many years. The renovations that we have completed have breathed new life into this resort which has long been regarded as one of the finest country house properties in Ireland. The works have been carefully conceived by our architects and development team who were always mindful to preserve the historical integrity of the original house. The new rooms and clubhouse have been added in a very respectful way in order to create clear distinctions between the old and the new. We will now be able to offer our discerning customers a world class product and we are delighted with the result.”

The renovations at Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort are just one of many capital projects being carried out by PREM Group, who also operate more than 38 properties throughout Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK.
